Ken has more than 30 years of experience in advising ultra-affluent families, corporate executives and business owners. At Aspiriant he leads a team of professionals who provide clients financial strategies related to taxes, estate planning, investments, insurance and philanthropy. Ken is a member of Aspiriant’s Board of Directors.
Ken was one of the co-founders of Quintile Wealth Management, an integrated wealth management firm established in 2002 in Los Angeles, which merged with Kochis Fitz in 2008 to become Aspirant. Prior to Quintile, Ken was a Client Service Director in myCFO’s Los Angeles office, where he provided wealth management services and guidance to more than 30 high net-worth families and adult children.
Before joining myCFO, Ken was a tax partner with Arthur Andersen in Southern California, where he established the firm’s Family Wealth Planning and Personal Financial Planning Practices group.
Ken earned a BS degree in Business Administration from Valparaiso University and a JD degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of numerous state Bar Associations, and is a past member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Sports Lawyers Association. Ken was also a founding member of the University of Southern California Family Business Program’s Advisory Board and is a former Director of the Society of CPAs/Financial Planners.
His civic activities include: Providence Hospitals Community Board of Directors (2009 to current) Step Up on Second Board of Directors (2002-current); National Council for The Valparaiso University School of Law (Emeritus). Ken is currently a Member of the following private philanthropic Board of Directors: Iacocca Family Foundation; The Ray R. Irani Foundation; Kingdomworks SDG Foundation and the Collins Family Foundation. Ken was also past treasurer and member of the Board of Governors for Idyllwild Arts Academy (1984-2004); Board member of the Boy Scouts of America Western Council (1999-2003) Member of the Los Angeles Philanthropic Foundation and the professional Advisory Board for the Los Angeles Children’s Bureau. He served on the Chicago Lung Association and helped establish the Hospice of the North Shore. Ken is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in The West.
Ken is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer for financial services trade organizations as well as civic and professional groups. Ken is a noted expert on tax and wealth planning issues and has been quoted in publications such as Forbes, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and numerous other periodicals.
